After 2 years, I’ve decided to discontinue Gamemories. Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to dedicate to gaming anymore. A busy work schedule and working on a Graduate degree are dominating my time.
Also retro gaming has changed and moved away from the 16 bit era. Mainly I have stopped having fun with it. Playing retro games and writing about them has begun to feel like a job; I’ve lost some of my passion. A blog that feels like a job isn’t a good blog at all.
Around March, I will be moving the content over to WordPress.com for posterity. I need to save the money on hosting this site.
I plan on continuing to write at JapanPowered.
Awww, a shame a blog has come to its end. I wanted to ask if you could recommend me to some video game blogs to check out!
It is unfortunate. I may revive it in the future, but as of now I don’t have much time to play video games.A graduate degree is dominating my time in addition to working full time.
A few video game blogs I read time to time:
Kotaku: http://kotaku.com/
Complex Gaming: http://www.complex.com/video-games/
Destructoid: http://www.destructoid.com/
My favorite article so far on Destructoid: http://www.destructoid.com/final-fantasy-vi-s-dancing-mad-a-critical-analysis-157570.phtml
I still run my Japanese Culture blog if you are interested: http://www.japanpowered.com
Ah, I don’t blame you about your education! It is definitely more important for you to concentrate on! I will check those blogs out and your Japanese culture one too! ^^
Yeah, with time being limited I had to make a few sacrifices. I perhaps play an hour or 2 of video games a week now.
I also suggest the digital magazine Retrogamer: http://www.retrogamer.net/
